Concept
Production of a concept landscape design proposal which presents an approach to address the physical site constraints, including level differences and existing landscape features. Our proposals showcase a thoughtful design that not only addresses the site's physical limitations but also considers the needs of all stakeholders, including users, maintenance teams, and the environment. Our designs improve accessibility, enhance visual appeal, and provide a sense of connection to nature; ultimately enriching the overall user experience.
Deliverables:
Concept Sketch Plans, Stakeholder Engagement
Planning
Our landscape design package for assistance in planning submissions includes:
An illustrative Landscape Masterplan that outlines the overall design vision and strategy, taking into account site constraints, existing features, and stakeholder needs.
An outline specification of proposed materials, including plant species, materials for hardscaping, lighting, irrigation, and other elements required for submitting a full planning application.
Landscape maintenance plan for long-term integrity and appeal.
Review planning conditions, ensure compliance, modify design if needed.
Aligning design and drawings with various design team members, such as architects, engineers, planners, ecologists, tree officers, and stakeholders, to ensure a co-ordinated final design.
Our comprehensive package and pragmatic approach to working in a wider design team enables a smooth approval process that meets the needs of statutory authorities.
Deliverables:
Landscape Masterplan, Detailed Planting Plan and Schedule, Landscape Maintenance Plan, Outline Specification of Proposed Materials, Illustrative Section Elevations
Biodiversity net gain
Our team has experience in delivering projects that successfully meet the statutory requirements for achieving Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) which has been made compulsory in England, as of February 2024. We work closely with experienced ecologists to develop design proposals that meet the 10% BNG threshold.
Our approach includes:
Collaborating with, and reviewing the ecologists baseline ecological assessments to identify existing biodiversity on-site and within the surrounding area.
Produce and develop innovative design solutions that create habitats that are more valuable and extensive than those existing pre-development.
Developing a detailed management plan that outlines the necessary measures to maintain and enhance the habitats over the next 30 years, including ongoing monitoring and adaptation to changing ecological conditions.
Deliverables:
Collaboration with Ecologists, Landscape GA Plans, Detailed Planting Plans and Schedule, Landscape Ecological Management Plan

Landscape Consultation
Plantology Ltd has worked closely with a leading care home group for the past 5 years to explore how their landscapes can contribute to providing high quality, relationship-centred care.
Our goal has been to enhance the quality and use of their gardens as well as promote a culture and ethos that values the importance of getting outdoors.
To achieve this we have worked across the group with CEO and Executive Leadership, as well as with each individual homes team focusing on the following key areas:
Improving the quality: Identify areas for improvement and implemented changes to ensure that their landscapes meet the highest standards.
Increasing knowledge: Provide training and education on the health benefits of getting outdoors, accessibility, design for dementia, promoting engagement, fostering sense of ownership, providing opportunities for relaxation, activity or social and therapeutic horticulture.
Measurable outcomes: We have been auditing the quality and use of the homes landscapes through both informal visits and discussion with teams as well as formal judging at the annual group ‘In Bloom’ competition.
Our work has resulted in a significant improvement in the quality and use of their gardens, with residents spending more time outdoors, enjoying meaningful occupation and a sense of achievement, and the gardens serving as a valuable resource for families and the community.
